As the global pandemic continues, people are searching for easy and free ways to get tested for COVID-19. Here’s how to get FREE COVID-19 testing at ASU. If you believe you have been exposed or if you are exhibiting symptoms, a test can help confirm your suspicions or set your mind at ease. It can also help you understand what steps you should take next. Arizona State University is offering free saliva tests (different than the nasal swabs at other test sites) for the ASU community and for the general public.
The ASU Biodesign Institute developed a saliva-based test for COVID-19. The test collects saliva in a tube and the entire testing process takes less than half an hour. Typically, results can be received within 48 hours.
As part of ASU’s return to campus plan for the fall, all students, staff, and faculty should be tested. Everyone can access this testing at no cost, but you are required to schedule an appointment in advance of coming for a test.
If you are not part of the ASU community, you can still get one of these tests for free. Everyone ages 8 and up can get a saliva test. Appointments are also required for the general public to secure a test. These appointments can be made online.
Be sure to understand what’s required of you prior to your appointment. You can’t chew gum, use tobacco products, or have anything to eat or drink (including water) for a half hour before your test.
