Pedal Haus Brewery is expanding to downtown Mesa with plans to open a biergarten later this year. This biergarten-style location will feature an indoor-outdoor bar, a 6,000-square-foot dog-friendly patio, fire pits, and stage for live music.
The Mesa location will be near Main Street and Robson, taking over the former Pit Stop auto body shop. Some of the building’s 1950s design and elements will be preserved. The interior will be 2,300 square-feet, preserving many of the original auto body shop’s Modernist “Googie Style” design features, such as the floating V awning.
“We are looking forward to debuting a completely new concept for Pedal Haus – the “biergarten” – which will provide a fun, lively and largely outdoor space for people to enjoy great beer, delicious food, lawn games, live music and more,” said Julian Wright, one of the founders alongside Derek Osborne.
Pedal Haus, a popular tempe-based brewery, also has a location in downtown Chandler. They are also working on a location under construction inside the MonOrchid building in downtown Phoenix, which is slated to open in the summer. This latest Mesa addition is planned for a late 2021 opening, as long as construction stays on track. Their locations are known for all of the brewery’s beers on tap, as well as their popular margaritas and signature dishes like the haus smoked wings, Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and maple butter, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, Von Hanson’s bratwursts and the popular burgers.
