Nevada, Las Vegas is notoriously known for allowing for legal betting on sports teams, scores, etc. since 1992 till now. Since the the U.S. has banned sports betting , the influence of crime and illegal behavior has risen in athletics. Well the U.S. Supreme court changed all of that today. Since gambling in the United States has been illegal, athletic related schemes and illegal street behavior outside of Nevada, Las Vegas has grown.

On Monday, May 14, 2018 the United States Supreme Court allowed sports betting in all of the United States aside from just Nevada. The Supreme Court vs. New Jersey in the lifting the band of illegal athletic betting overruled with New Jersey in favor of the first amendment. This allows more tax benefits for each state now and it will also make it easier for any state in America to allow citizens to bet now on a sport. This new legalization will now allow American citizens to gamble on in casino’s and racetracks for ages of 21 and up. This now has revolutionized the game and allowed professional athletics to grow from this.

The association commented on it shortly after the ruling, saying “Today’s decision is a victory for the millions of Americans who seek to bet on sports in a safe and regulated manner,” the association said in a statement May 14th, 2018. “Today’s ruling makes it possible for states and sovereign tribal nations to give Americans what they want: An open, transparent and responsible market for sports betting.” Major Sports leagues all across the United States have said at one point or another that it is unconstitutional to make betting against sports illegal.
