Teddy Castro proudly announces his candidacy to serve his community. He is an associate broker for neXGen Real Estate in Arizona, with 15 years in the real estate industry as a leader, Teddy now embarks on his new journey to serve his community in a different way; by running for Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 29.
Teddy is running on the Democratic ticket for the Legislative District 29 (LD29) comprised of West Phoenix, South Glendale, East Litchfield Park and Maryvale. LD29 is also where his neXGen Real Estate Branch Office is located. This is home for Teddy and he wishes to support the community in any way he can.
Raised by a single mother in the community Maryvale located in LD29, he has fond memories of his childhood in the local parks and pools. Now a father of three beautiful children, through his life experience and work he has instilled the principles of discipline, community, and hard work in his children. Over the past 20 years Teddy has coached youth sports and stays directly involved in his community.
Since 2009, Teddy has been deeply involved with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). He’s a founding board member of the NAHREP Greater Phoenix Chapter, serving as secretary and vice president in 2016 to 2018. In 2019, he gained further leadership experience when he was elected Greater Phoenix Chapter President and helped increase membership to more than 350 active members.
As a 2015 graduate of the Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI), Teddy learned from experts and other Latino business owners, the importance of not only business but the direct relationship to community. HLI is a highly respected organization for educating, inspiring and exposing leaders to public office, policies and community efforts in Arizona. HLI was a great experience for his next step in life, serving the community, and running for office.
Teddy’s background in politics includes a past run for the Litchfield Elementary School Board in 2016. His support of the public schools in LD29 motivated him to run, and while he did not win, he earned the highest votes of any Hispanic candidate in that election. This experience did not discourage Teddy from his desire to serve; only motivated and inspired him to run for office once again.
Last year, Teddy worked with other community leaders to establish “We Heart Community,” a grassroots informal organization that supports underserved schools. We Heart Community helps fundraise for playground equipment, clothing, and school supplies to ensure children can have a fulfilling educational experience. The organization has expanded to multiple schools through several established events to raise awareness for the students.
In conclusion, Teddy’s desire is to ensure all LD29 residents have opportunities to thrive and chase their dreams and desires. Through all of Teddy’s life experiences at the end of the day Teddy believes every resident should have the right and opportunity to learn, serve their community, chase their dreams, thrive in their business, and grow generational wealth. Opportunity is America and LD29 deserves better, that is Teddy Castro’s desire and endeavor to serve as your Representative in Arizona Legislative District 29.
