Antsy to get rid of the winter blues and to kick off the summer in style? There is no better way to do so than to join the party at the Wet Electric Music Festival which will take place at the Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe, Arizona. The venue, which offers the largest wave pool in the country at a humbling 2.5 million gallons, will host the music festival on April 27th, 2019, a few weeks before the official opening of the park on May 6th.
The Festival offers a unique experience combining the thrill of a waterpark, with luxury cabanas, waterslides, bars, etc. with the sounds of some of the most renowned electronic music DJs and artists. Now in its tenth year running, it is consistently considered one of the best electronic dance music festivals in the country.
This year’s headliners include Los Angeles-based RL Grime, who recently released his triumphant sophomore album NOVA. He managed to live up to the expectations following his critically-acclaimed first album, NOVA, released in 2014, which is a notoriously difficult task for any artist. Not one to settle on his achievements, RL Grime masterfully walks the thin line between a triumphant commercial success and an underground, uncompromising sound.
Benny Benassi, who produces an instantly recognizable fusion of house and electro, will also be headlining at the festival. The Italian-born DJ and producer is a household name whose career spans over a decade. From his humble club DJ past to his multiple Grammy award-winning, multi-million record selling, high-brow festival playing present, Benassi has dedicated his career to innovative quality music which has made his success. In addition, he has collaborated with numerous high-profile artists such as Madonna, John Legend, Gary Go, Kelis, Jean-Baptsiste or Apl.de.ap.
Originally hailing from Down Under, What So Not is the third headliner to this tenth edition of the Wet Electric Festival. After taking Sydney’s club scene by storm since 2011 thanks to his boundary-pushing bass, What So Not has gone global and headlined at festivals around the world. His upcoming projects include a large-scale tour throughout the United States in September and October.
Besides the headliners, the Wet Electric Music Festival 2019 will also feature a large number of rising stars, including (in alphabetical order) Avitas, Bonnie X Clyde, Bruno Furlan, Electric Polar Bears, Sacha Robotti, Sonny Fodera, Taiki Nulight, Tails, Teig, Vnessa and Will Clarke.
